Hungarian National Dance Ensemble (previously Honvéd Dance Theatre) Artistic leader: Zoltán Zsuráfszky: Black-Red... Dance

The title of this folklore program was taken from a poem that may have been the most important poem of the dance workshop movement in the early 1980s, which led to the rediscovery of the folklore art in the 20th century.  The poem also indicates, that owing to the colourfulness in the art of folk dance, a number of great artists parallel to the movement have created memorable choreographies that are not seen anywhere.
In the first part the the Honvéd Dance Theatre recall the most significant thematic folk dance choreographies of the past 30 years, parallel with the original traditions that the program is based upon. In the second part of the evening the analogy continues with new pieces.

This program pays our respect to the jubilee dance workshop movement, its originators and the still living generation of the peer Hungarian choreography school, who have contributed their exceptional work to the world success of Hungarian folk dance art.
