Doors without Handles - 1956

Inversedance - Zoltán Fodor Company

The piece follows the unexplored ‘white patches’ of the system during the ruthless years of vengeance. The daughter of the revolution is tossed around on a production line by the soft dictatorship. The noise of tanks suppresses the roar of anthems. Freedom and Fight are overshadowed by gallows. The basis of the piece is the instinct of freedom of those living in the system. A bond shared by a whole nation; individual fates, which end in a loop. Some of the hidden symbols, such as the rope, can be interpreted at first sight. On the one hand, it is the symbol of death as a tool of hangings; on the other hand, in the world of mythology it represents the bond of love, expressing creation and death. The characters become winners are defeated in the reflected light of a minute’s peace, where the part catches up with the present. The production commemorates the participants of the events of 1956.
