The legal predecessor of the FlamenCorazonArte Dance Theatre Society introduced themselves with their first full length theatrical piece under the name of Latidos Ensemble in 1998. Even then it was their aim to present the diversity of the genre of flamenco with a specific message through telling stories. Since then they have presented the audience of the National Dance Theatre with 14 individual productions. The speciality of their performances is the unique, live musical accompaniment, which is always created for the choreography through the meticulous workshop work of the musicians and dancers of the company. In their pieces they seek the connection between different other techniques and arts – tango, Indian and Hungarian folk dance and also film, photography, poetry and painting. The members decided in 2006 to organise themselves into an association. Previously the dancers, who come from all walks of life, - as students of Andrea Lippai immerse themselves in this difficult and complex genre for many years, which was only possible to learn abroad. They were selected based on their talent, to prove their aptitude on stage.
The leader of the ensemble, Andrea Lippai, who learnt and became fond of this extraordinary dance genre in 1991, began her career as a soloist at the Ballet Company of Győr 30 years ago. She learnt her skills abroad off her own back, which her daughter Zsófia Pirók –having grown up as the first generation - carries on in her mother’s dance ensemble. She received her degree in the ancient home of the flamenco, in Andalucía, at the Conservatorio Professional de Danza in Seville, from the flamenco faculty (as the first foreigner) and it is her mission to continue this wonderful creative activity.
